About the Show

Bendigo Theatre Company’s 2026 pantomime The Three Musketeers brought Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale to the stage as a fast-paced, comedic adventure set in a France on the brink of civil war. The story followed the hot-headed D’Artagnan as he arrived in Paris dreaming of glory, only to stumble into friendship with Athos, Porthos and Aramis after a day of chaotic misunderstandings and unexpected heroism. As the newly formed allies faced the scheming Cardinal Richelieu, his guard Rochefort, and the cunning Milady de Winter, the production blended swashbuckling action, pantomime humour, and audience-friendly spectacle with a central message of loyalty, courage, and friendship. The journey to England and back to save the Queen and protect France provided a lively narrative framework that allowed the company to balance traditional pantomime fun with a sense of genuine theatrical adventure, making The Three Musketeers a memorable milestone in BTC’s pantomime history.
